If you’re a registered voter, you can vote!
Missouri’s photo ID requirement for voting starts June 1, 2017. That means in any election after that date, you will be asked to show a photo ID before you vote. If you voted in the last election, you can vote!
Here’s how you can ShowIt2Vote:
  1. Show a government-issued photo ID.
Driver License – Nondriver license – Passport – Military ID

  2. Sign the provided statement and show one of the following.
Voter Registration Card – ID from a Missouri university, college, vocational or technical school – Utility Bill – Bank Statement – Government Check –  Paycheck – Other Government document showing your name and  address

  3. Vote a provisional ballot. There are two ways your vote counts.
If your signature matches the signature in the voter registry, your vote counts.
If you come back to your polling place and show a photo ID, your vote counts.
After June 1, 2017, if you want a photo ID to vote and don’t have one, the Missouri Secretary of State’s office will help you obtain one (1) nondriver license for free. We can help you obtain the documents you need at no cost to you.

You may need a copy of your certified birth certificate, certified marriage license, certified divorce decree, certified adoption papers or amended birth certificate, a court order that changed your name, a social security card that reflects your name, or naturalization papers that prove citizenship.

If you do not have a photo ID to vote, but already possess the necessary documents to obtain a nondriver license and want one (1) to vote, please visit your local license office and request a nondriver license for voting purposes. Go to www.dor.mo.gov to find the nearest license office.

Most of us have, at one time or another, visited and purchased items from Amazon.  Here is a great way to order and promote contributions to our pantry.

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com.  The difference is that when customers shop at AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation donates 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organization (Ivy Bend Food Pantry) selected by customers.

Please take a few minutes to check our the smile.amazon.com website.    Use this site for ordering and designate Ivy Bend Food Pantry as the organization to receive your foundation donations.

Invest an Acre, an innovative program of The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, is the first large-scale effort to organize farmers for the purpose of hunger relief in America.  In 2012, Missouri became one of five Midwestern states where the program was piloted.  The program’s founding partners include The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, Archer Daniels Midland, Monsanto and Feeding America.  Partners such as MFA, Cargill and Farm Credit Services have also joined forces to support the program.

Invest an Acre provides a potential donor with an opportunity to make a cash contribution and to have Monsanto match it, dollar-for-dollar.  Donations are 100% tax-deductible and any individual or entity can give to Invest an Acre.  This includes businesses, civic organizations, foundations and churches.  The donor’s contribution and Monsanto’s match are put to work directly in the donor’s community.

In the Food Bank’s 32-county service area of central and northeast Missouri, Invest an Acre contributions are used to purchase ground meat through a local initiative called Project Protein.  Launched by the Food Bank in 2013, this program produces one-pound packages of meat that are high-quality and low-budget.  Generous local partnerships with organizations such as Cargill Pork, Marion County Farm Bureau and Country Butcher Shop of Palmyra make Project Protein possible.

Those wishing to donate can do so by making a check payable to “Invest an Acre” and designate the organization you wish to benefit by noting its name, “Ivy Bend Food Pantry”, in the memo line of their check.

The Ivy Bend Community Food Pantry received an award from the Missouri Department of Economic Development's Neighborhood Assistance Program that funded an expansion at the facility in southern Morgan County.

The tax credit grant allowed more local money to stay local rather than go to the state and federal governments for wider distribution.

The pantry received its full proposed amount of $308,210 in the grant. That is the amount of donations the pantry received through the program, with $215,747 in tax credits available.

Ivy Bend's award was one of five food pantry programs in the state that received assistance in a recent award announcement from the DOD.

We have received our full $308,210.00 in NAP Grant Donations and the new Pantry became fully operational in July of 2015.

The new pantry building, provides an opportunity to store and give a larger quantity and variety of food to its residents and surrounding communities of Southwestern Morgan County in Missouri. The facility includes free GED education classes, a FREE senior citizen hot lunch program, AA services, limited health services, as well as an after-school tutoring program for children in the Ivy Bend community who are struggling academically.
